Changelog tools compared
A changelog tool gives you a public page of product updates, usually a “What’s new” widget inside your app, and often emails to subscribers. They differ most in how they charge: by monthly active users, per product, or a flat price.
| Tool | Free plan | Paid from |
|---|---|---|
| Headway | Unlimited changelogs, public page and widget customization, categories | $29/mo |
| Beamer | Up to 1,000 monthly active users, 1 teammate | $49/mo billed yearly |
| AnnounceKit | No free plan; 15-day trial | $49/mo billed yearly |
| Changedrop | 1 project, up to 25 posts, public page, widget, 100 subscribers | $9/mo |
| ReleasePad | Limited number of posts, public changelog page, basic widget | $35/mo |
| Olvy | 1 builder, unlimited release notes, analysis of up to 25 feedback items | $60/mo |

How to choose
- Check how it charges. Per monthly active user (Beamer, and AnnounceKit above 10,000) grows with your traffic, not your team.
- Check whether the widget is on the free plan; it’s the part your users actually see.
- If you only need a public page, a free plan or a page on your own site may be enough.
- If you ship often, look for drafting from GitHub (ReleasePad) or an AI editor (Changedrop Pro).
- Check that you can export your posts and leave.
